Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 April 2026
These terms explain the rules for using Porth2Porth. By creating an account you agree to them. We have tried to write them in plain English. If anything is unclear, please get in touch at [email protected].
If you use the iOS app, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies. In any conflict between Apple's EULA and these terms, these terms take precedence to the extent permitted.
1. What Porth2Porth is
Porth2Porth is a personal walk-logging app for the South West Coast Path (SWCP). It lets you record the sections you have walked, track your progress along the full 630-mile trail, and look back on the walks you have completed.
It is not an official resource of the SWCP Association or any government body.
2. Your account
To use the Service you need to create an account. You agree to:
- provide accurate information when you sign up
- keep your password secure and not share it with anyone
- tell us promptly at [email protected] if you think your account has been compromised
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. You must be 13 or older to create an account.
3. Your content
When you log walks, add notes, or upload photos, that content belongs to you. By uploading it you give us a licence to store and display it as part of running the Service.
You are responsible for the content you post. Please do not upload anything that infringes someone else's copyright, is abusive or unlawful, or contains personal information about someone else without their consent.
We do not sell your content to anyone.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to use Porth2Porth only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not harm other users or the Service. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, use automated tools to scrape data, or reverse-engineer the software.
5. Safety on the Coast Path
The South West Coast Path passes through remote and sometimes hazardous terrain. Porth2Porth is a logging tool, not a navigation or safety app. Please always carry an up-to-date map and appropriate gear, check conditions before setting out, and follow the advice of the SWCP Association and local authorities.
We are not responsible for any loss, injury, or harm that occurs while walking the path.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the Service running reliably, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available. We may occasionally take it offline for maintenance or updates and will try to give advance notice where possible.
7. Our liability
We provide the Service as-is. To the extent permitted by UK law, TM SOFTWARE CONSULTING LIMITED is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded under English law.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top and notify you by email or in the app before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. On deletion, your walk data and content will be removed from our live systems. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 60 days before being fully purged.
We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.
10. Intellectual property
The Porth2Porth app — including its code, design, and branding — belongs to TM SOFTWARE CONSULTING LIMITED. All rights reserved.
The South West Coast Path trail data (section names, distances, start and end points) is publicly available reference information about a public right of way.
Your walk logs, notes, and photos belong to you. We claim no ownership over the content you create.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
